Explosion Protection Documents (EPD) and verification dossiers

Under the ATEX directive, it is mandatory to compile an Explosion Protection Document (EPD) for any zone or installation where explosion risks are present. An EPD contains, among other things, a description of the substances used, processes, and installations. A Risk Assessment and Evaluation (RA&E) is also an integral part of an EPD. Furthermore, this document outlines the safety measures that must be implemented to minimize or completely eliminate the risks. These can be divided into technical measures (such as removing the ignition source or flammable substance) and organizational measures (for example, training employees).

Verification dossiers

At Mondial Engineering, we compile verification dossiers for our clients. In addition to the Explosion Protection Documents, this dossier is mandated by ATEX laws and regulations. It contains guidelines for the inspection and maintenance of the installation, calculations, and other details regarding explosion safety. All inspection data is also kept in the verification dossier, allowing you to demonstrate at any time that the installation has undergone all required inspections and that any necessary measures have been taken based on those results.
